I booked my ABRSM exam through the site and it was mostly straightforward. The dates and times were easy enough to find, and the payment went through without any drama, which is always a relief. I did have to double check a couple of details just to make sure I hadn’t picked the wrong thing — I’m the sort of person who checks a train ticket five times too, so maybe that’s partly on me. A few pages were a bit slow to load, which was mildly annoying, but nothing major. Overall, it was a good experience and I got it all sorted without much hassle.

I’ve used a few similar platforms, and this one felt more stable than most. Everything ran smoothly for me overall, with just one small lag that didn’t really get in the way.

The site itself was easy to use. No real issues there. I did pass, so that’s good. But the marking criteria felt a bit unclear to me. Like, I could see the score, but not really why I got it. Just would’ve been better with a clearer breakdown.

The certificate did arrive later than I thought it would—well, I was kind of expecting faster updates, but it showed up in good condition and was packed fine. The messages had the stuff I needed without making me dig around forever — dates, times, what to bring, all that. I went from mildly annoyed before even starting to weirdly impressed once I realized I wasn’t missing anything important.

A few pages on the site are a bit wordy, and at one point I did think, seriously, wrap it up. But I still understood what I needed to do, and overall it was a good experience.

They were helpful, really helpful, and I appreciated the support. It did take a bit longer than I expected, though, slow, slow at times, but overall I still had a decent experience...

I’ll be honest, I felt a bit misled going into it because I expected the whole process to be more stressful based on what we’d been told. But the examiner was actually really friendly and calm, and that made a big difference. My kid was nervous at first, but they helped them feel more at ease

I found what I needed quickly, which was nice. I was a little confused at first about where to start, but once I clicked around for a minute, everything was easy enough to figure out.

I really like how many repertoire options there are on abrsm.org. I was starting to feel a bit trapped trying to find something for my grade that wasn’t completely overplayed, but there were actually loads to pick from. It made choosing exam pieces feel way less stressful, and I appreciated that there were different styles too, not just the same usual stuff...

The syllabus was clear and I was able to find what I needed quickly. I was kind of expecting it to be confusing like a lot of these usually are, but this one didn’t really give me any trouble.

Some of the exams felt like they were right on point, but a few were a bit tougher than I expected. Overall though, it didn’t feel totally unreasonable.

I use abrsm.org now and then for teaching resources and exam info, and in my head I tend to remember it as useful. The worksheets and syllabus details have definitely saved me when I’m trying to pull a lesson plan together quickly.

Then I go back and remember why I got annoyed last time, finding things can be oddly fiddly, and some resources feel a bit out of date or not that easy to use. So yes, it helps, but maybe not quite as smoothly as I always convince myself it will.

This really helped me get my head around the exam steps without feeling too stressed. Everything was explained simply, simply enough that I didn’t have to overthink it. I felt a lot more prepared and calm going in.

The ABRSM site is simple enough to get around, no major issues there. But yeah, the international side can be a bit annoying. Some countries seem to have way fewer exam dates or centres, so you don’t always get much choice. It works fine overall, just not quite as flexible as I was hoping.
